Of Not Getting Old

I was on a conference call at work today when I stretched, which apparently caused me to pinch a nerve or something in my back, and I've been in pain for the rest of the day.  This is one of those things that never would have happened to me 10 years ago.  I suppose this is a sign of "getting old", but I hardly think 34 is old (despite what John's friends might say).

In other, perhaps more exciting, news: we finally got the missing shingles on our roof replaced today.  A few blew off in a recent wind storm, and so we called a roofer who came out and replaced the missing ones (with such a good color match, I can't even figure out where the patch is), as well as went around and tacked down a few more that needed tacking down.  Exciting stuff.  Especially exciting because we have one of the roofs that people look at and say "dang, that's steep!"  Because, well, it's a very steep roof, and there's no way in heck I was getting up there even if I knew how to fix a roof.  Which I don't, and I never want to know, so I'm ok with that.

Anyway, let's try to catch up on some more photos, shall we?  I'll start off with our friend Joe Garcia (stage name: Hoseff), playing at Sweet Pea Cafe:

My newest pair of shoes. I like them.

OUTSIDE???
This is the typical view in our living room when we have all the windows open. Including (which is hard to tell here) the knocked-over lamp.

085.366 - Lentil Apple Walnut Loaf
My favorite Winter recipe from Clean Food (see further down)

086.366 - Yoshi Likes Chocolate
A friend/co-worker went to Hershey, PA and brought me back of these GIANT candy bars. Yoshi tried to steal it.

088.366 - Dinner
Homemade bread + salad = good dinner

This is my kitty!
You didn't think I could write a whole entry and not post a photo of a cat, did you? (this is Myles)

087.366 - Clean Start, Clean Food
LOVE these cookbooks. I bought Clean Food last year and became obsessed, so I bought Clean Start this year.  Warning: they're vegan cookbooks, but I often make mine just vegetarian by using actual honey and milk when it calls for things like agave nectar and rice milk.
