Three days in a row!

Oh yes, that's right!  This makes day THREE that I've gotten over here to write/upload photos.

Of course, I don't have much to say as far as the writing part goes... Although, I'm glad it's Friday, and I'm looking forward to a photoshoot I have this weekend in Downtown Akron. I love the downtown shots. Of course, I love pretty park/neighborhood shots, too, but, downtown is just so darn fun.

Here are just some random photos from late April/early May:

New Laptop

So it's going to be two days in a row of posts! I told you I'm motivated to get caught up over here!

The only thing of minor excitement that happened between yesterday and now is that I got a new laptop at work. I know, this isn't really blog-worthy news, but there are two exciting things about this. First, since my promotion, I don't need as much crap installed on my computer (not doing development anymore means less developer tools I need), combine that with the fact that my old laptop was 3 years old, and that means this one should hopefully start up faster (my old one took 20-30 minutes from pressing the button to being in my email).  Second, the new laptop has a numpad!  Now, sitting at my desk I use a separate keyboard anyway, but I spend at least half my time in meetings now, so having a numpad on the laptop keyboard is pretty exciting. Ok, I really probably won't use it much, but it's still cool!

Anyway, the photos I'm posting today are from when YPA participated in Keep Akron Beautiful by picking up trash around Lock 3.  We met some cute little baby geese along the way, too.

Later that same day, we met some friends up in Geneva on the Lake to do some wine tasting and wandering around.

Flowers and Bees

I'm still so very far behind in posting photos over here (the ones in this entry are from April!). I keep saying to myself that I'm going to post an entry a day until I catch up... but... you can see that hasn't really happened.

Mom & Dad stopped over for a night on a long road trip of theirs. We had just had a cookout for my coworkers the day before so we had a lot of leftover food to go through, so instead of going out for dinner, we grilled and ate leftover tofu salad, guacamole with grilled corn, and quinoa and red lentil salad with feta cheese.  Good stuff.

Other than that, not much has been going on this week. A lot of the people I work with on a regular basis are on vacation this week, so it's been a very calm week with NO meetings, which is unheard of for me (I'm usually in meetings almost constantly from 9-4), so I've actually been able to get things DONE.  And on the homefront, I've been watching a lot of the Olympics, which has been nice.

These photos are from the flowering bush in our front yard:
