A Photo Update!

I'm on VACATION this week! John and I are taking three days to go and celebrate our anniversary (five years, can you believe it?) later this week, but until then, I have all day to do work around the house (we finally finished planting the rest of our veggies/herbs yesterday, for instance), play some Wii, read my nook, and most importantly: catch up on photo editing! Here are some of my favorites that I've gotten to so far (these are from the February-April time frame):

I had to take this shot while cooking (I believe I was making the potato soup you see above), because of how much I LOVE the new kitchen. Having so much counter space, and some of it actually NEXT to the stove is just... amazing. I never realized how much easier this would make my cooking. You just get used to what you have. But look! I have room for my laptop (with recipe on it), my cutting board, my knives, all the bowls I use to drop my prepped ingredients into, a glass of wine, and a container full of cookies. What else could I ever need? (side note: the pull out trash can being right next to where I chop all my veggies is awesome, too, as I just swoosh the parts you don't use directly into the trash can. awesome!)

These last three photos are from mid-April. The forsythia bush certainly isn't blooming anymore, but it sure was pretty when it was!

The best of 50.

On the 50th day of the year, I took 50 photos with my 50mm lens. I did this a two years ago (I forgot last year - oops!). If you do the math, you'll realize that the 50th day of the year was actually in February and I only just now got around to finishing the editing of them. That wedding I shot in March plus all the work I'm doing for my actual job kinda got in the way.

Btw, this was the same day my parents were town, and I didn't get a single photo of them! d'oh!
