Misc pics and stuff (two recipes)

I have a lot to say, I'll try to start where I last left off. First off, you saw me making a meal in my last entry, but now you can see the finished product (as always, with the pics, click to embiggen):

Vegetarian Pasta Bake

It's very yummy, and vegetarian, if you care about that sort of thing. You can find the recipe here, though I change it in one way: I don't boil the pasta first. Instead I bake it all with the raw pasta plus 1 and a half cups of water. I bake it for 50 minutes covered, then add more cheese and bake it for 5 more minutes uncovered.

One of the projects in my 366 challenge was to do a clone pic - where you put yourself in the picture twice (it's quite easy with photoshop), so I made one:

Project 366 - Day 50

In case you can't tell, one of me is sleeping, and one is about to pop a bag over my head in order to wake me up.

Yoshi! Whatchu doing?

John hid Yoshi in the fridge on me. Bah.

Project 366 - Day 51

Me, by candlelight (I'm wearing a tank top, I apologize for the fact that I look naked).

This past weekend, John and I took a trip to Columbus for one of our friend's birthdays, here's some pics from that trip, some of our (wonderful) hotel room, some of stuff we saw, etc:

The cake was amazing!

I also made this for dinner last night:

Creamy Broccoli-Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Thumbs up to this easy recipe, it's the first time I tried and I really liked it. The recipe is here. I ended up with a lot of extra stuffing/broccoli so I added it into the baking dish around the chicken and poured the soup mixture over everything and ended up with the extra nice, moist stuffing. Very yummy.

That's about it! Work is busy, as always. Life is great, though. Should get our bonuses within the next 2 weeks, too, so that's fun :)

Math for Mom

I thought Mom would get a kick out of this HORRIBLE menu:

This is how we teach kids math?

Click to make it bigger. It's the menu from a restaurant in John's hometown. There's 3 math problems on it, and only ONE has the correct answer. ONE of THREE!

Various other pictures I've liked from the AMAZING new camera (btw, my first photography class was pretty lame, but I'm still looking forward to the rest - the next one isn't until May 3, though.):

The new camera

I got it in the mail on Thursday:

The new camera!

Here's a sampling of pictures I've taken with it... more can be found on my flickr, of course (hover for a description, click for a bigger picture):

Well. I did it!

If you've been looking at my flickr, which some of you apparently have been, then you saw my Chihuly pictures, so I won't bother posting them here, but just in case you missed it, the entire set is here.

So. I won $250 from the super bowl. I bought 2 squares in one of those square thingies. One of my squares was the score of the end of the first half! $250 straight to me! (ok, $230 if you count the fact it cost me $20 to buy the squares. meh.) I took it as a sign to buy the camera I've been drooling over for years. I've talked about getting a DSLR since I bought Ted his SLR in 2003, so this is the one I got. The Canon Digital Rebel XTi, if you're too lazy to follow the link. I always said I'd get a Nikon, but I had such a wonderful experience with Canon's customer server with my point-and-shoot, that I wanted to stick with them.

Anyway, for those of you that haven't visited my flickr, some of the last pictures you'll see from the point-and-shoot that has served me well since the divorce:

(sorry about the small size, it's just easier, for various reasons I don't feel like going into, but clicking on them will embiggen 'em)
