Playing catch-up

It seems like I've been pretty busy since I last wrote in here, but I think I've really been busy doing not much at all.

English Muffins

I've been cooking more and more these days, and one of John's favorites that I've been making are these English Muffins. I've made them both "plain" and using the sourdough starter that John's mom was nice enough to give me (I think she was too scared to use it herself and knew I was into baking my own bread and thought I might like it - she was right!). They are amazing combined with some eggs and cheese for breakfast sandwiches but also pretty damn good all by themselves. I recently brought two batches into work for a bake sale and only 3 people bought one, so John was happy that I arrived back at home with plenty for us to enjoy.

Photowalk.04 - Another Wall

I've still been going on all my photowalks (though I have skipped one - I'm not being too harsh on myself this year since I succesfully completed the one-a-week project last year). I'm trying to go to more urban-ish locations instead of all the nature shots I did last year. It's a bit of a step out of my comfort zone, but I'm liking alot of the results so far.

Photowalk.05 - some bushes.

Work has definitely been keeping me busy lately. I'll try to avoid talking about too many technical details, but the general idea is that we've been very "behind the times" with the technology we use, and it looks like they're finally listening to us and letting us pick a whole new environment to code in. The exciting part is that a coworker and I get to pick the entire new landscape ourselves - which involves a lot of pieces and parts and is all new stuff and can be fun to learn. The downside is that they're mking a coworker and I pick the entire new landscape, so it's a lot of pieces and parts and can get stressful and overwhelming.

Photowalk.04 - A wall! A door! And a light!

iffles.com - the website I run geared towards beginner photographers - has really taken off. Last I checked (which was actually about a month ago, I believe), I was averaging 400 hits a day. I'm no google or anything, but for a no-name photographer, I'd say that's pretty darn good. I'm determined to make people feel "at home" there, so I answer every question I get, and have asked all my readers to tell me about their blogs and flickr accounts if they so desire, and I follow every one - so it keeps me busy not just writing my entries and editing my photos, but also keeping up with everyone else!

SP.04 - How to Eat Everything

John's been picking my brain a bit, too. Since I've had my website up and running for about 8 months now, I'm considered a Wordpress Expert in his eyes, and I'm helping him get his website up and running now, too. Granted, he's doing 99% of the work, but it's nice to answer a question for him now and then. So if anyone wants to know how to fix their own old NES system, you just keep watching this space for me to eventually post a link to his site. He's hoping to actually get some extra money by putting some affliate links to where people can buy all the parts they'll need to do the fixes that he's going to write about, too.

SP.05 - By the window

I guess I really don't have that much more to say, other than the fact that I got my hair cut, so I'll leave you with just a few more of my favorite photos from the last month or so (hair cut photo at the very end!):
