Engagement Photos

One of our friends got engaged this year (and is getting married in less than a month!), and as my wedding present to them, I did their engagement photos last month. Here is a sampling of some of my favorite photos.

Garden and Hiking

I know, I just posted yesterday (if you missed the post of our anniversary vacation in Geneva-on-the-Lake, be sure to check that entry out, too!), but since I didn't post for so long, there's a lot of photos to catch up, so I have to post a lot in order to catch up!

These photos are just from around our house/Akron.

First, some from our garden:

This guy was hanging out on our family room roof, which was an old additional to the house, so you can look out the windows on the second floor and see right out onto the roof, so I was able to get some photos without him realizing I was there:

Squirrel!

The rest are from a hike around the Metro Parks that we went on when my toe was starting to heal enough that I could walk without too bad of a limp!

Five Years of John and Iffles

I'm horribly behind in updating you with photo goodness.

June 2nd was the five year anniversary of our first date, and so John and I celebrated with a trip up to wine country in Ohio (yes, we have a wine country). We stayed at the Lodge at Geneva on the Lake. There were some ups and downs (breaking my toe the night before we left turned out to be an Up, because it gave us an excuse to just completely relax!)

I could write more, but really, these photos probably just say it all (and yes, I did take multiple photos of the bruising progressing on my foot but I've decided that no one else really wants to see those. It was pretty impressive, though).

The second day we went on a bike ride (which apparently is not painful with a freshly-broken toe!). These are photos from that ride:

Our second day there happened to be our actual anniversary, so I had chocolate covered strawberries and local champagne delivered up to the room (the strawberries are on graham crackers):

Side note: I have since chopped all my hair off to a cute pixie cut, and seeing the above photo looks so weird!

It was just the two days we spent there (though I took the whole week off work! It was fantastic!), and it was just the break we needed. We spent most of the time just laying around in the room playing board games, watching movies, and watching the sun set. It was a perfect anniversary!

Also, unrelated, John's 28th birthday was yesterday. Which means he's still a bit younger than my 33 years, but it also means he's now the age I was when we started dating!
