Kittens!

When dad was in town, John discovered some kittens that were living under our front porch. There was one black-and-white mama cat, and three kittens: one gray with white socks, one black and white, and one white with gray spots. They were all very adorable, but John and I both fell in love with the white one with the gray spots.

Unfortunately, I think the mama cat was a bit wary of Myles, Maia, John and I all staring out the window at her kittens, so they were only living there for less than a week, but I did manage to get some photos of the cuteness through the windows/door:

Dad's trip to Ohio

As I'm sure you know, my dad tries to make the trip out every year to go to the Indians vs Reds game here in Cleveland. I'm not as big of a baseball fan as he is, but I still look forward to this game every year. It's a fun game no matter who wins, and there's always the ballpark food to eat!

It was an exciting game this year that ended with a win for the Indians (sorry, dad). Here are some of my favorite shots from the game:

(John didn't know I took this picture, which is the only reason he's not giving me some sort of annoyed look. ha.)

The next day, Dad and I drove up to Cuyahoga Valley National Park to go on a hike. I had asked him what kind of hike he wanted, and he replied one with water, so I figured the Brandywine Falls hike was the best one. Here are some of my favorite shots from that hike:

Around the House (outside)

I wore shoes to work yesterday and today. It hurt (especially today, since the shoes were less giving), but I still think I'm healing nicely.

Being back at work has been pretty stressful. While I'm thankful for the week I had off, it has certainly made it much worse being back. While my project goes live on the 24th, this is just Phase I of a project that will continue on until next year, and I'm just so exhausted with the whole thing! But it's really boring to talk about, so I won't!

I took these photos back in April and May around the outside of the house when it's all pretty and flowery. Right now our yard is more green than anything else. Especially with all our veggies and herbs (and strawberries!) popping up all over, which is also good, of course, but not quite as pretty as all of this.

Ok, Myles wasn't in the backyard. But he's still nice to look at, imo.

Today is my last day of vacation. Back to the daily grind tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it, for sure. But it will be less than a month before I take a few days off for Fourth of July, and I will travel out to Connecticut.

My toe is feeling much better and I can walk almost normal, as long as I'm not wearing real shoes, so I might just wear my slip-on flip-flop type shoes to work.

Anyway, here are some photos of Emma from the same day as the last post:

Easter Weekend - Part One

John and I just got back from our five-year anniversary vacation (I know, we can't believe it, either). The plan was to hike and bike all around Geneva-on-the-Lake, but the night before we left we think I may have broken my toe. Even if it isn't actually broken, it hurts (a lot), and has some incredible bruising on it (I'll spare you the photos, but believe me, it's impressive). We still did the bike riding (because that actually didn't hurt. It was great to be MOVING and not in pain), got chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne delivered to the room, watched some movies, ate some good food and watched the sunset over Lake Erie. It was actually really relaxing and fantastic.

Anyway, I'm still trying to catch up on some photo editing and posting, but I did finally get around to some from Easter weekend when I went out to E's house (mom and dad were there, too), as well as some photos from around my area you might enjoy as well.

Easter Weekend
I'm not trying to impy that Andrew is Something Annoying... but Katie might have thought so.

Easter Weekend
Perhaps she couldn't think of a word for the game!

Easter Weekend
Andrew really seemed to be enjoying himself.

Easter Weekend
Was the boys team about to win??? (no, they weren't. The girls won, of course. Didn't we? I think we did.)

Easter Weekend
One of the few pictures I managed to get of him looking at the camera but not pretending to shoot it.

Easter Weekend
I was trying to get a photo of the game board but Mary just popped right in there!
