Christmas was good. I got knives! And drinking glasses. And fun in box! And a Cosmic Cows came.

And Banjo-Tooie from John, which I have obsessively been playing since returning home.

Yuck

I thought you might like to know that I just spilled half of a bottle of Mountain Dew on my pants. It WOULD figure that today was the day they ran out of water in the vending machine. I typically drink one bottle in the morning and one bottle in the afternoon. I also usually bring my own bottles, but I've run out, and was relying on the vending machine. Since THEY ran out of bottles, opted for said Mountain Dew.

figures.

hrumph.

Only 2.5 more hours I need to sit at work with Mountain-dew-soaked pants in a Mountain-dew-soaked chair as my arms stick to my Mountain-dew-covered desk.

On a (nicer) side note: The arm is working better and better. I can almost straighten it out now!

On another side note, I'm currently reading Catch 22 and liking it much more than I thought I would.

Patches (2002-2006)

Do you remember this little guy? Patches was the second cat I ever owned. While it was my idea to adopt him, and I had to convince Ted to get him, he ultimate really became Ted's cat, which is why Ted kept him in the divorce. He was more energetic than Kaylee, much more vocal - and much fatter!

He was put to sleep this morning. He was only 4 years old. His heart was failing and was in too much pain.

It's sad to think that both Kaylee and Patches are gone now. Kay when she was only 5 and Patch when he was only 4. While it's sad to think about, I already said goodbye to Patch when I left Ted, so I'm not dying inside like I was when Kaylee died.

Chest X-Ray

The results from my Chest X-Ray were clear, so I'm back to a healthy Moo.

My arm still hurts, though. Hopefully that will clear up soon.

Today I am wearing the incredibly soft new blue sweater that my mom bought for me. It's amazingly comfortable.

My boss also took us all out to lunch today for Christmas. So, overall it's been a good day for us.

Appointment with Surgeon

Well, It looks like the Moo is recovering fine.

As you may recall, the last time I went to the surgeon, he discovered some packing that was left in there from when I was in the hospital (gross). This time, he was happy to see how much the wound has improved, in fact, it's all closed up now. There's still a bit of swelling and irritation around it, and he's guessing that's what's causing all the pain in my arm. If it doesn't improve in a couple weeks, or at any point gets worse, I should call him, but he doesn't seem concerned.

He did mention that he doesn't know for sure what caused this, but he's guessing it was a cyst on my lymph node. Typically in cases like that, they like to remove the entire cyst. Because mine was so drastic, it was necessary to immediately drain it, so they didn't ever actually remove the cyst. It's possible that the infection itself ended up breaking down the cyst so it's all a moot point (or a "moo point", which is where the title of this blog came from - Joey [in Friends] not knowing the difference and all). But, there's a possibility that this all started from a cyst and that the cyst is still in there. Which is fine, unless it gets infected again. So, basically I have to keep an eye out, and if I ever notice and swelling again, I need to go in right away and have the cyst removed.

John is happy that I have the ok to use soap on my armpit now.

I am happy I no longer have to put gauze on it. I will be REALLY happy when I can shave it again. The muscles are all weird around it still so even if I was comfortable with the idea, it's impossible to create a flat surface. Aren't you so excited to know that???

In other news, I still haven't put up any Christmas decorations, and I seem to have lost my hard drive that contains ALL my mp3s. This is a LOT of music (I'd guess about 40 gigs). I'm hoping it never made its way into the hospital and was left there. This would be extremely tragic. There are no words.

yay tv!!!! It's SO BIG. a perfect fit, as you can still see up the stairs. And John set up the speakers so the sound comes out there, too. And dad will be happy, because I moved the 19 inch up into the guest bedroom, so he can watch TV when he visits. I'm so nice.

Yoshi actually went around attacking me, John, Myles and Maia, but I think this one of John came out the best :)

Yayblog

Ok, because apparently I'm really hard to get a hold of, here's a blog so you guys know what's going on in my life. Of minor interest lately:

  • Been out of the hospital since Saturday after Thanksgiving
  • My first full week back at work was this past week (worked 3 half-days the previous week)
  • Got my final chest X-ray on Saturday, as long as that looks good, I don't need to go back at all.
  • My second follow-up with the surgeon is tomorrow (Dec 12. E gets a birthday, I get poked and prodded)
  • Hospital bills are 'spensive.
  • My 32 inch tv is purty.
  • Maia is still dumb, Myles is still perfect.

Thats all I can think of right now.
