Oh, various small things to report.
First of all, I signed up today for a payment plan for my hospital bill. 6 "easy" payments and I'll be all done. The "easy" payments are more than my car payment. More than John's rent. *sigh* Oh well. I have to keep in mind that I didn't pay a cent for health insurance all year long, or ANY health costs up until that point... so I can't complain too much, right?
Second, my company is sending me to on two trips this year! The first is for training. I'm not too excited about the training, but it should be helpful, and make me one of only three people in the company with the training, making me pretty valuable. The best part, though, is that it's in Toronto! Which I'm pretty excited about. John will probably come out with me, too - since it's a free hotel room for a week for him! He'll work on stuff on his laptop during the day and hopefully we'll get out and see the city in the evenings.
The second place they're sending me to is a conference, and I THINK it will be in Vegas! Also exciting! I'm quite sure John will come with me there if we're still dating, as the conference is in the fall, and neither of us like to plan out that far :)
As for Toronto, I'll need a passport (actually, it turns out I won't if John goes, because then we'll drive to save money on a plane ticket for him, and you don't need the passport if you drive). My company is, at the moment, refusing to pay for the $97 passport! I have people on my side, thoug, and they're fighting for me. I will, of course, feel horrible if I end up driving and don't need it, in which case I won't make them pay for it... even though I already did. Such is life.
Myles or Maia knocked over a figurine I had next to my MBA diploma in the office. In the middle of the night, of course, and it smashed into many many pieces. I'm guessing it was Maia because she was hiding when I went looking to find out what the loud noise was, and when she DID eventually show herself, her tail was twice the normal size :) (for those that don't know, when cat's get scared all their hair stands on end, which is easiest to notice in the tail, as it turns QUITE poofy!)
John is happy because his good-for-nothing roommate is moving out within the next 2 weeks, so that's pretty much all he can talk about lately. I'm happy about it, too, of course.
