The last set of Acadia photos!

Yes, yes, we went to Acadia in early September and I'm only just now posting the last batch of photos. Hey, I made it before December started, so that's something, right?

Cadillac Mountain
Luckily, the morning we left, we drove up the mountain one last time and were rewarded with this view. Most of the rest of the photos are from atop the mountain.

Thunder Hole + misc

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! John and I went to his parent's house and had a great meal!

I have one more set of Acadia photos to share after this batch, but for now, here's Thunder Hole (which wasn't very thunderous when we were there) and some other misc photos:

More from Acadia
This is from when we went up Cadillac mountain. I REALLY wanted a photo of our chucks from the top (I'm planning on doing a wall in our upstairs hallway full of converse photos), but this is how foggy it was halfway up the mountain, and it was even worse at the top. Sad.

More from Acadia
More from Great Head that I apparently forgot to post the first time around.

More Acadia!

Our last full day in Acadia was the day I planned on taking the most photos, but then it also turned out to be a day FULL of fog. We walked the Great Head trail in the morning, though.

Looks a bit moody with all that fog, no?

I took a LOT of photos of spiderwebs on this trail! There were so many! I'll only torture you with one.

Jordan Pond/The Bubbles

I believe I left off with breakfast at Cafe This Way. After that we had planned hiking around Jordan Pond and then up the two Bubbles, but the first bubble really wore us out! We sat there and talked about it and decided we were physically ABLE to do the second bubble, but... we're on VACATION, why wear ourselves out? So we took a different route back down, back around the pond, and then went and got some famous popovers with ice cream on top from Jordan Pond Lake House. I didn't take photos of the popovers. Why? Because they taste SO GOOD and as soon as one gets put in front your face with the ice cream melting into the hot popover and the chocolate sauce dripping down the sides, well, you EAT you don't grab a camera!

Also, yes, we did stop to see Bubble Rock but I forgot to take even ONE photo of it. I will blame the high altitude. Or something.

Hike up the South Bubble
This is what the trail is like climbing up the South Bubble - this is towards the bottom and is really the easy part, mostly because you don't feel like one trip will send you crashing down the mountain.

View from South Button on to Jordon Pond
Looking forward again, see the upper-left-hand-corner of the pond? How it get skinny and almost looks like it's turning into a river there? Well...

Jordon Pond
...That's actually HERE. This photo is the view from that "river-like" area looking back up at the bubble. I think this is my favorite photo from the whole trip. It's currently my desktop background at work. Loves it.

Mushroom
John was fascinated by all the different mushrooms in Maine. He pointed them all out, and I agreed to at least take a picture of the "hamburger bun" one.

Window Bench
these photos are so out of order! This is from the cottage, a view of the window seat with my nook on it. I spent so much time on that window seat with that nook!
