I believe I left off with breakfast at Cafe This Way. After that we had planned hiking around Jordan Pond and then up the two Bubbles, but the first bubble really wore us out! We sat there and talked about it and decided we were physically ABLE to do the second bubble, but... we're on VACATION, why wear ourselves out? So we took a different route back down, back around the pond, and then went and got some famous popovers with ice cream on top from Jordan Pond Lake House. I didn't take photos of the popovers. Why? Because they taste SO GOOD and as soon as one gets put in front your face with the ice cream melting into the hot popover and the chocolate sauce dripping down the sides, well, you EAT you don't grab a camera!
Also, yes, we did stop to see Bubble Rock but I forgot to take even ONE photo of it. I will blame the high altitude. Or something.

Near the start of the trail.
The Jordan Pond trail
Looking down the trail.
This is what the trail is like climbing up the South Bubble - this is towards the bottom and is really the easy part, mostly because you don't feel like one trip will send you crashing down the mountain.
View from the top

Sitting at the same place as the above photos, but turned to the left.
Looking forward again, see the upper-left-hand-corner of the pond? How it get skinny and almost looks like it's turning into a river there? Well...
...That's actually HERE. This photo is the view from that "river-like" area looking back up at the bubble. I think this is my favorite photo from the whole trip. It's currently my desktop background at work. Loves it.
Another view from the top of the bubble - looking out to to the ocean.
John was fascinated by all the different mushrooms in Maine. He pointed them all out, and I agreed to at least take a picture of the "hamburger bun" one.
The view from the balcony at the Lake House.
these photos are so out of order! This is from the cottage, a view of the window seat with my nook on it. I spent so much time on that window seat with that nook!
another photo taken from the Lake House balcony - this time zoomed in on the Bubbles
