The only really exciting things that have been going on since my last post (that I can think of) is that John bought a new car and I've started my training for the Akron Half Marathon.
Now, when I say John bought a new car, I mean it's new to him, and might look pretty familiar to anyone who ever saw his old car. Here's the new one:
It's a 1996 Oldsmobile 88 LSS Supercharged. It's actually his dream car (though the color wasn't his first choice, it's actually a darker green than it looks in the photos. He wanted black and he might one day get it painted). The car is actually pretty amazing. It's pretty rare, we don't know how many were made in 1996, but we know only 100 were made in 95, so we know there can't be too many 96s, either. In many ways it's nicer than my car: leather interior, dual climate control, sunroof, and of course the supercharger which I don't care about :) But he's happy. And he's happy working on it, fixing some mechanical and eletrical issues, since he's into doing that sort of thing. He got a great deal on it, too, so ... hooray!
As for me, I'm doing the whole running thing - or was before I injured my foot. Long story short, I tried out a different running store the last time I went to get shoes, and they fitted me for shoes they never should have, and I got injured by my own shoes! Lame! I can't even really do anything about it/complain to them, because I didn't end up buying the shoes from them because they didn't have the color I wanted, so I had to buy them online. The downside was that I had to go back to my favorite running store and buy
another new pair of shoes, but the upside is, it's just an issue with the shoes, and I should be back to running in about a week. It's only about 36 hours after the run that really did my foot in and I'm already walking with just a slight limp instead of the massive amounts of pain I was in right after the run. So. yay?
As for photos, I left off with photos from Halloween, so here are some other photos from last fall:
And now, moving into winter...

Jumping a little out of order, this is from the 5K I did on New Years Eve. On the right is our friend Sarah, and on the left are two of Sarah's friends.

this is the real life Mario Kart course that John set up in the living room as a Christmas present to me (and gifted me the DK and Yoshi radio control karts)

There were bananas and red shells to avoid

and, of course, some fans watching the race.

He also had flowers delivered to me at work

And finally, a photo of the two of us.
